Ready to Join Pack 100?
Most families start by coming to an Open House or just reaching out to us directly. Once you're ready to make it official, signing up takes a few straightforward steps: registering with Scouting America, paying dues, and getting your Scout set up with a uniform. The checklist below walks you through each one.
Who Can Join
Pack 100 is open to both boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade. We're a non-denominational, inter-faith pack that draws families from the North End of Boise and the neighborhoods around it. If you live nearby and want a place where your kid gets known by name, you're in the right spot.
What Pack Life Actually Looks Like
We meet most Mondays from 6 to 7 PM during the school year at Cathedral of the Rockies. The schedule rotates each week: Pack Meetings, outdoor events, den meetings, and field trips. Den groups stay small, usually 6 to 12 kids, so your Scout won't get lost in the crowd. Over the year you can expect campouts, the Pinewood Derby, swim safety training, the Veterans Day Parade, an Idaho State Capitol tour, and our Blue and Gold Banquet. Because the pack is entirely parent-led, we do count on families to show up and pitch in, and parent and committee meetings are held monthly via Google Meet if you want a voice in how things run.
What It Costs
Annual dues are $190 per Scout. Of that, $90 goes to Scouting America for national registration and $100 stays with the pack. The pack's portion covers a t-shirt, neckerchief, pack patch, camping trips (most years twice a year), Pinewood Derby, and most other activities and advancement awards throughout the year. Dues are paid by cash or check, and if cost is a concern, scholarships are available. Just ask any leader and we'll work something out quietly.
